More about Nepal Jam

Nepal Jam by Ace Seeds is the result of the union between a Nepalese mountain sativa —robust, compact and very resistant to cold— and the Jamaica ’85, a Jamaican selection of great vigor and positive effects. After generations of selection up to F8, Ace Seeds has managed to stabilize this hybrid of 60% Sativa which preserves the best of both worlds: the compact structure and resistance to cold and fungi of the Nepalese, with the extra vigor, the bluish colors and the positive and energetic effect of the Jamaican sativas. With genetic analyzes that demonstrate low genetic variability, it is one of the most stable and predictable varieties in the catalog for breeding projects.

Plant morphology. Nepal Jam grows with a very characteristic columnar structure and a small size, with few lateral branches and a medium-large internodal distance. Indoors it reaches between 60-120cm; Outdoors it can reach 200 cm in warm Mediterranean climates. Its flowering cycle is one of the shortest in the Ace Seeds sativa catalog: only 8-9 weeks, with outdoor harvest at the end of September or beginning of October. In indoor SOG, 16 plants per bulb in 7-liter pots give very good results.

Appearance of the flower. The buds of Nepal Jam are firm, compact and very resinous, with abundant trichomes that reflect the hashish quality of the Nepalese lineage. In cool temperature conditions, it can show bluish and purple tones coming from Jamaican lineage. Its aroma is seductive and very pleasant: sweet caramel, honey and a creamy, tropical fruit background reminiscent of the best Himalayan charas. The effect is positive, energetic and long-lasting — typically Jamaican at the beginning, with the resinous quality of the best Nepalese hashish.

Cultivation tips

  • What is the ideal climate to grow Nepal Jam ? It is exceptional for cold, rainy and high humidity climates. It was originally developed in Galicia and has been successfully cultivated in the most humid countries of Europe. Outdoors, it can be grown even in very northern latitudes where other sativas fail. In the Mediterranean it gives its maximum potential.
  • What training techniques work best with Nepal Jam ? Its columnar structure makes it ideal for techniques SOG indoors. By placing 16 plants per square meter in 7-liter pots, you obtain a very uniform and productive garden. The medium-large internodal distance also responds well to LST to create a more productive horizontal canopy.
  • What type of fertilization does Nepal Jam need? Responds well to moderate nutrient levels throughout the cycle. It is not particularly demanding and can obtain excellent results with standard fertilization. Flowering resin stimulators can enhance its caramel and honey profile.
  • What should the irrigation and humidity be like for Nepal Jam ? has a high resistance to botrytis, powdery mildew and low temperatures. Irrigation should be regular and moderate. Its mountain origin allows it to tolerate temperature variations and humid conditions that would destroy other sativa varieties.
  • Is it necessary to prune the Nepal Jam plant? Pruning is not recommended in SOG crops. In crops with more space, a cleaning basal shoots and light staking during flowering are sufficient. Basal cleansing is especially useful to improve ventilation at your columnar base.
